Job Description
Solidus is searching for an Analytical Mechanical Design to be responsible for design & analysis and integration & test of payload level sensor systems for the aerospace and commercial community.  The responsibilities include creating and modifying hardware sub-assemblies, fixturing, and engineering drawings.  In this capacity the successful candidate will interface with various team members, engineers, scientists, senior designers and mechanical technicians to produce E/M drawings used in the manufacturing and assembly of optical systems, sub-systems and components.  Conducting engineering analysis and test efforts of complex opto-mechanical systems, developing alternative designs to satisfy mission level requirements, documenting design approaches, establishing design verification & validation, and developing plans to manufacture and test payload sensor systems.

- BS in Mechanical Engineering, MS preferred
- Ability to understand and work with 3D parametric CAD models is a must. 
- At least 5 years of experience in developing, complex systems, precision sensor systems for aerospace & military defense applications is required
- Experience using CAD tools, such as FEMAP/NASTRAN and Autodesk Inventor 
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills for interfacing with senior management and customers 
- Experience with - finite element modelling (FEM) is a plus
- Experience in system level hardware design & development with an emphasis in mechanical and structural analysis and test for space-based environments  
- Mechanical analysis background including tolerancing, thermal, structural (modal, stress, deflection)
- Structure and sensor level testing experience highly desired
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance desireable
