Job Description
Solidus is looking for a Software Developer to support prototype development for TRANSCOMs Navy component  the Military Sealift Command (MSC). The work being performed by the candidate will directly contribute to these prototypes, which will demonstrate the value of new data-related capabilities to assist MSC in enterprise data and metadata management.

Responsibilities include:
-Full-stack software design, development, and testing. 
-Design, develop, and support technical programs utilizing modern software engineering techniques, programming tools, and support processes for program managers and technical staff.
-Prototype data exchange designs.
-Participate in defining, describing and implementing program deliverables/functionalities.
-Evaluate and propose use of open source and commercial software, frameworks, and tools where applicable.
-US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance 
-PhD plus 5 years minimum experience, or MS plus 8 years minimum experience

The ideal candidate will be a team player, well-versant in:
-Semantic technologies and ontologies (OWL, RDF, SPARQL)
-Database systems such as SQL/NoSQL
-Distributed databases and cloud-based data management (H2, OrientDB, etc.)
-Information-centric, event-driven, service oriented architecture (SOA)
-RESTful web services
-Schema development and open standards from organizations like ISO and OGC
-Message broker technologies
-An understanding of data provenance
-Shell scripting/Python
-Performance testing
-Experience working in a continuous integration development environment and following agile processes.

-Experience with the following technologies:
JUnit or other testing frameworks
Maven (5+ years)
AMQP (2+ years)
OWL (2+ years)
