Job Description
Solidus is searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer. 

Responsibilities:
-Mechanical design and analysis of test fixtures, in addition to developing and overseeing the mechanical assembly and environmental test of high reliability electronic, electro-optic and opto-mechanical systems. 
-Environmental tests will include vibration, shock and thermal vacuum testing. 
-Verifying that all assembly and test operations are executed as required by procedures, documenting discrepancies and assisting with problem and failure resolution.  


Requirements:
-US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance 
-Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 1 year of minimum relevant experience in mechanical design, assembly and environmental testing of high reliability electronic, electro-optic, mechanisms, or opto-mechanical systems for DoD or aerospace applications. 
-Possess strong oral and written communication skills and must be able to present status/results to internal and external audiences  
-Candidates must be enthusiastic, innovative and motivated self–starters able to work independently, or as part of a group
-The position may require travel to meetings and field sites.
-Experience in DoD, military, and/or aerospace applications
   
Preferred Skills:
-Experience with Creo Elements Direct Modeling or SolidWorks 3D CAD software
-Experience conducting environmental tests, including vibration, shock and thermal vacuum testing
