Summary:

Upper Great Lakes Family Health (UGLFH) is seeking a school-based Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care to the students of the Houghton Portage Township Middle & High Schools.  

Responsibilities

  • Obtain vitals signs, including weight, temperature, blood pressure, glucose levels, and patient data, including chief complaint.
  • Performs testing and record subsequent results.
  • Reviews medical history with patients and notes any changes in patient electronic health record.
  • Perform blood draws and collects other necessary lab specimens; performs injections, EKGs, and other related skills within scope of certification, as directed.
  • Ensures all data is captured in electronic health record.
  • Provides basic instruction and education within scope of practice at the direction of the provider.
  • Supports clinic patient flow.

Job Qualifications:
  • Provide evidence of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within first 90 days of employment.
  • One year related experience, preferred.
  • Certified as a Medical Assistant.
