We are seeking a Preventive Health Educator in Houghton or Marquette County who will play a vital role in promoting health and wellness for UGL’s patients. This position focuses on educating patients about the importance of preventive screenings, healthy lifestyle choices, and early detection of health issues. By working collaboratively with patients, care teams, and community resources, the Preventive Health Educator aims to empower individuals to take proactive steps toward maintaining their health.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Educating patients on the importance of preventive screenings, such as cancer screenings, immunizations, and annual wellness visits.
  • Developing and delivering group or individual health education sessions to enhance patient awareness of preventive care options.
  • Working with interdisciplinary care teams to develop preventive health education materials and initiatives.
  • Participating in outreach events, workshops, and community health fairs to raise awareness about preventive health services.

Job Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, dietetics, health education, or related field, or equivalent experience in Primary Care or Care Management.
  • Experience with HEDIS standards and Primary Care best practices preferred.
  • Familiarity with preventive screenings and patient education.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
